The first time I heard a crystal singing bowl, I was captivated. The first time I played a crystal singing bowl, I was changed. These bowls are not just musical instruments. They are alchemists, and each one has its own personality.

I learned this when I acquired my first singing bowl. I'd been sampling several, thinking I knew what I wanted. The bowls knew better. I was presented with one and told, "Sometimes the bowl chooses you. By the way, this bowl has a little extra 'mojo.' This is 'Healer's Heart.' It was played in sacred ceremony in Peru."

I was not expecting to cry when I played this beautiful green crystal singing bowl infused with the gemstone chrysoprase, but that's exactly what happened. Twice. The singing bowl named "Healer's Heart" had indeed chosen me.

When I began working with singing bowls, I was surprised to discover that I couldn't not make sound. The singing bowls seemed to release a voice I didn't realize I had. Following a sacred sound pilgrimage to Egypt, I was called to begin singing. Whether it's toning, or bringing through a song or words, my voice is an important part of my sound work. I continue to explore different sounds, instruments, and practices to help people, animals, and nature.

My formal sound healing training has been with the Seattle Sound Temple, Whispering Dragon Center in Seattle, and Luminosity Healing Arts in Eugene, OR. I am a student of Acutonics® (tuning forks). I trained in Sekhem Reiki with the Institute of Shamanic Wisdom in Monroe, WA. I've studied Celtic spirituality, meditation, music theory, shamanic journeying, and voice. I believe there are many paths to the same destination of Oneness. 

I've been holding compassionate space for others for 30 years through therapy sessions and courses, workshops, circles, and sacred ceremony. I have a master's degree in social work from the University of Michigan. I've also worked as an individual, couples, and group therapist, as well as a relationship coach.

I love working with sound and Reiki because they provide such a beautiful way to shift energy, and each person's experience is unique. The results can occur quickly and, at times, be profound. It brings me great joy to be of service and to hold safe, sacred space for you while using sound, light, words, and song.
